The official announcement
Father Matters, in partnership with the Technical Assistance Partnership of Arizona (TAPAZ), is proud to announce that we have been awarded funding through the U.S. Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (DOL VETS) FY26 Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program (HVRP) to launch the Father Matters Veterans Workforce Advancement Program. This new initiative will serve veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness throughout Maricopa County, connecting them with individualized employment planning, career readiness services, job-driven training, industry-recognized credentials, Registered Apprenticeships, On-the-Job Training opportunities, job placement, and employment retention support.
Recognizing that successful employment often requires addressing more than a job search, Father Matters will collaborate with housing providers, workforce agencies, employers, training and apprenticeship programs, Veteran Service Organizations, behavioral health providers, and other community partners to help veterans overcome barriers and achieve greater stability and self-sufficiency. Our outreach will extend throughout Maricopa County and include sheltered and unsheltered veterans, veterans transitioning back into the community, and veterans who may not currently be connected to traditional veteran or housing service systems.
We are looking for community partners to join us in this work. We welcome opportunities to collaborate with employers interested in hiring veterans; businesses and industry partners that can provide career exploration, job shadowing, work-based learning, On-the-Job Training, or employment opportunities; apprenticeship and training providers; housing and supportive service organizations; Veteran Service Organizations; and community agencies that can provide referrals or help address barriers such as housing, transportation, behavioral health, legal services, and other basic needs. Our goal is to build a strong network of partners that creates clear pathways from outreach and stabilization to training, employment, and long-term career success for veterans in our community.
