What is the Father Matters Intouch Phone Program?
Many people do not consider cell phones a necessity, but imagine if you are unemployed and searching for a job – how does an employer contact you for placement? Or if you have a serious medical condition and need to stay in touch with your doctor? Cell phones have become a necessity, but in these tough times many people are struggling to pay their cell phone bills, or they can’t afford one at all.
Father Matters Intouch Phone Program is a lifeline assistance program designed to ensure that quality phone services are available to low-income participants. Father Matters partners with Access Wireless to provide income eligible customers with a free cell phone and a monthly allotment of airtime for one year. The cell phone offers in-demand features such as voicemail, domestic long distance, text messaging, call waiting, caller ID and 911 emergency access.
Who is eligible to participate in the Intouch Phone Program?
Individuals may qualify for Intouch Phone Program services if they participate in a public assistance program such as Food Stamps, Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), National Free School Lunch, Federal Housing/Section 8 Assistance, or if they do not receive any of these public assistance programs, they may also qualify based on total household gross monthly income.
If you are applying based on income eligibility, you will need to provide a copy of last year’s State or Federal income tax return or 3 consecutive months worth of your most current pay stubs, Social Security benefits statement, Veterans Administration benefits statement, Retirement/Pension benefits statement, divorce decree or child support document, or Unemployment/Workers Compensation benefits statement.
You must provide your date of birth, last 4-digits of your social security number and proof of program documentation on your application in order to be approved for service

- EBT Quest Card
- SSI Letter
- Free Meals Eligibility Notification Letter
- Section 8 Lease or Lease Amendment
- Medicaid or AHCCCS Card
- Utility Bill with the LIHEAP Discount
- Workers Comp Statement
- Veterans Admin Benefits Statement
- Pay Stubs
- Last Year Tax Return
